This tutorial will teach you how to create realistic particle based firework display using Adobe Flash.
One of the things I had always found difficult after completing a series of flash animations is linking them together or linking other files such as word or pdf files. First of all, linking to external files helps because it will take a much shorter time loading the files than if they are internal. But how to do this is the trick for most of us who are not code geeks. By the time you are done with this simple tutorial, you will be able to easily create links to external files.
Learn how to link to web pages, external websites, frames and email addresses in Flash using text links or buttons using the GetURL function in actionscript.
Please Note : The tutorial is explained using Flash 8.0.
It is always a KOOL thing to have a simple, smart preloader to start your flash presentation. It will spice up your presentation and make you look like a pro...but that is the general idea anyway. Sorry guys, I am not a code geek but let me indulge you in a little geeky spice here at www.knowflash.com
In this tutorial, you will learn how to create a simple flash preloader fully functional with action script code necessary to run it. All you have to do is follow the simple steps carefully and enjoy...Yes, enjoy it!
Many times, we as designers want to try out new things. Sometimes we end up using templates most especially if we are dealing with a program that requires some understanding of programming language(s). Is it ok to just use default templates in programs? I would rather understand fully what it is am required of, find a way to do it manually and then finally do it. At layersmagazine.com, I found a tutorial that will explain to us how to create a simple slide show in flash similar to the template provided by default in the program.
This tutorial will show you how to make a simple, yet effective, slideshow-type image gallery using Flash with minimal scripting. This is great for displaying your portfolio online, sharing personal photos, or for anywhere else you may need an image gallery or slideshow. What is important for you to take away from this tutorial is the theory and script behind making this slideshow work so you can apply it in your own situations. My example will be a pretty simple layout but the techniques can be applied to something much more involved.
About three years ago, I was developing an application in Flash that required some advanced interactivity with other objects on the stage. Essentially, I needed smart objects on the stage that would detect how close they were to another object (and each other) and do something about it.
After trying really hard and making some decent headway, I got stumped at a certain point and I decided to search online and see if there was a method that had been used before. And I landed on this brilliant tutorial that actually teaches you how to create an interactive game in Flash. And what's more, the author goes gives in-depth theory on the physics and mathermatics behind the code and to top it all off, provides the source files which you can download and play around with.
By the time you're done, you should be able to create something like the animation on the right (Use arrow keys and space bar to play.)
Be warned though: It is not easy. Complex code and tonnes of mathematics in there. But I believe it will be an excellent introduction to basic game development for Flash.
Considering the versatility of web development and flash, it is only logical to say that flash has become a very powerful tool for us as we design or plan to design today's sites. But we must not forget that a lot has now changed in the progressive program versions. Latter versions of flash are now Adobe and they come with a new scripting version of ActionScript.
This free Flash CS3 tutorial is for beginners who want to learn how to make a simple website in Flash. Learn how to incorporate some basic interactivity required to create a Flash website using ActionScript 3.0. Many other free flash tutorials at www.tutorialized.com
Animation is one of those things that cuts across multiple design disciplines while maintaining its fundamental principles. Whether you are animating in Flash, After Effects, Maya or by hand, there will always be a starting keyframe and an ending keyframe. There will always be a tween and a motion graph. They may have different names in different applications, but the core principles stay the same.
Which is why I found this tutorial very fascinating. It's written for Flash, but the author makes it a point to go through the animation fundamentals while creating the animation. The end result is a tutorial that cuts across multiple animation programs.
Warning: There is a bit of Actionscript 3 in the tutorial, but you can live without it if you hate programming, or do not have AS3.
I hope you learn from it and enjoy it as much as I did!
