The thing is Photoshop never stops to amaze me; considering the fact that am not a regular user of the program myself, well at least not like the masters we know. Ok, this tutorial captured my attention because of the wonderful creativity and imagination put into it. From gradients to levels, effects and filters; this tutorial really covers a lot of stuff.

"This tutorial will show you step by step on how to create a “Badass Bling Effect” using layer styles in Photoshop. Once you create the layer style, you can easily “blingify” any layer. There is also a video tutorial as well."

As always I have been scouting for some cool tutorial that will inspire designers but I found one that will inspire even the Police...YES, the POLICE! I mean who really sits down to construct the look of a criminal based on a baby photo taken 20 years ago? We don't have that kind of software in Uganda but maybe an artist may be able to help. With a little knowledge of your Photoshop and following this tutorial, one might be able to get a job with the Police...think about it guys, it's a good opportunity.

Create Animated GIF images with Photoshop

Regardless of what most 3D artists may think (no hard feelings, am one of them), photoshop still has a firm grip on design and now even animation. For instance; it would have taken a 3D artist hours on end to come up with an animation of glowing candles. With such a simple tutorial, we are able to accomplish it in just under 20minutes (if you are slow). I suggest Adobe should just go ahead and develop a complete 3D platform for Photoshop.

In this tutorial you will learn how to animate your pictures using Photoshop CS3. If you have CS2 or lower you can access Image Ready and do the same technique. Regardless how you do it result should be similar to this:

The Ultimate Collection Of Maya 3D Tutorials

Ever wonder how animated films like Ice Age are made? Maya is the answer. Maya (or Autodesk Maya, having recently been acquired by Autodesk) is powerful 3D modeling, animation, texturing, rendering and visual effects software.

Maya was developed for the film industry and is now being used for design, visual effects, games, film, animation, visualization and simulation. The most significant thing that sets it apart from other 3D packages — and the reason it is used so widely in these major industries — is that it is highly customizable. Big studios can write custom code to suit their productions using the software’s development kit. This makes Maya highly adaptable to any workflow.

These tutorials cover almost everything Maya has to offer, from modeling to the final rendering process.

It has been a while before anyone posted anything on After Effects, but well here we are.

This tutorial is going to require Photoshop Extended because you will be designing a 3d can, and then bringing that into After Effects for compositing with some stock footage of some water. Also learn how to add a reflection in the water of the can.

This is in a two-part series by Eran Stern, which takes you step-by-step through designing a 3D object using Photoshop Extended, animating it in Adobe After Effects and then creating a realistic reflection in water.
